Our Piano Challenge: Choosing a Song That Inspires

My son is getting ready for his upcoming piano recital, and he has chosen “Always Remember Us This Way” by Lady Gaga.

His piano teacher told us that this piece is actually above his current skill level. Normally, it would be better to choose something easier. However, my son feels much more excited about practicing a song he already knows and loves than an unfamiliar piece from his piano textbook.

Honestly, I think motivation is one of the most important parts of learning. When children enjoy what they’re practicing, they’re often willing to put in much more effort.

After talking with his piano teacher, we came up with a plan. She said that if we increase his private piano lessons to three times a month, there’s a good chance he will be able to perform the piece successfully at the recital.

It won’t be an easy journey, but we’re excited to take on this challenge together.

Let’s see how far passion, hard work, and a little extra guidance can take him!
